There is a lot that can be said when it comes to any portion of this multifaceted topic. It’s hard to find the correct person to begin with – I must choose either Barbra Streisand or Lina Wertmüller, and will pick the latter because she was the first in all history to earn a Directorial Academy Award nomination (the former earned a Golden Globe Directorial Award but no nomination). We (?) got two out of ninety-four wins with Kathryn Bigelow and then Chloé Zhao; this is painful how unfair the mainstream culture has taken to even permit this.
There also – although with exasperated slow-pacing – has finally been some catching up to the mecca for decades lacking in equity regarding the other gender and a multitude of other [non-white] cultural races and heritages.
Will say that certain free-thinkers are getting their rightful dues.
Plus, during Pride Month, it’s frankly excellent that intersex continues to redesign both officially and unofficially – seems the flag design will remain indefinite, perhaps for the better!
